ഉപ്പുമാവ് എങ്ങനെ തയ്യാറാക്കാം


[ To serve 4-5 persons ]

Ingredient Quantity

Roasted Rava 250 g
Oil 3 tsp
Mustard seeds 1 tsp
Urad dal / Chana dal 3/4 tsp
Asafoetida [ Kayam ] a pinch
Curry leaves a few
Onion chopped 1 no
Ginger grated 1-inch piece
Green Chillies chopped 2 nos
Optional vegetable carrot, beans, potato, peas 25-50 gm
Water 600 ml
Salt to taste
Ghee 1/2 tsp
Coriander leaves – for garnish a few sprigs

Cooking method:

• Take Melam Roasted Rava
• Heat oil and season with Mustard seeds, Urad dal /Chana dal, Asafoetida and some curry leaves
• Then add chopped onion, grated ginger and chopped green chillies
• Saute for 2-3 mins till the onion becomes translucent
• Add all the chopped vegetables and saute for another 3-4 minutes
• Add water, salt to taste and bring it to boil
• When water starts boiling, add ghee
• Add rava gradually to the boiling water with continuous stirring so that no lumps are formed
• Cover it and cook on low flame until mixture turns thick
• Garnish it with coriander leaves
